Description	:	Viola was born March 21, 1905 in rural Arlington, Nebraska to William and Ida (Ahlmeyer) Hilgenkamp. She grew up and lived in rural Arlington until moving into Arlington in 1945. She was a homemaker. She married Clarence Kassebaum March 21, 1928 in Arlington. They were blessed with one child. Sadly, Clarence preceded her in death June 20, 1985. Kassebaum died Thursday, Feb. 24, 1994, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair, Nebraska. Services for Viola Kassebaum are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 1 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington, Nebraska. Rev. Michael Rogers will officiate. Burial will be at the church cemetery. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Clarence and a great-grandson, Jonathan J. Tedrow. Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Phyllis (Mrs. Eugene) Jacobs of Arlington; two brothers, Edwin Hilgenkamp of Arlington and Leslie Hilgenkamp of Colon; a sister, Ethelleen Barth of Engelwood, Colorado, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Micky Jacobs, Jack Jacobs, Jerry Jacobs, Nate Tedrow, Darrell Hilgenkamp and Milton Hilgenkamp. Helen Hilgenkamp is organist. Memorials have been established to the church and Arlington Rescue Squad.
