Description	:	Mrs. Viola I. Guetzlaff, 73, of 302 5th Ave. SW, Waverly, died Sunday afternoon, July 10 at the Waverly Municipal Hospital. Viola I. Prange was born on October 29,1909 in Blue Earth County, Minn., the daughter of Henry and Wilhelmina Ludwig Prange. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith on December 26, 1909 in the Decoria Twp. Lutheran Church by Rev. Dachateiner, and confirmed on July 22, 1923 in St. John Lutheran Church, Mapleton, Minn. by Rev. Paul Elsel. Viola graduated from the Mankato High School in 1926. Guetzlaff, 73, of 302 5th Ave. SW, Waverly, died Sunday afternoon, July 10 at the Waverly Municipal Hospital. Viola I. Prange was born on October 29,1909 in Blue Earth County, Minn., the daughter of Henry and Wilhelmina Ludwig Prange. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith on December 26, 1909 in the Decoria Twp. Lutheran Church by Rev. Dachateiner, and confirmed on July 22, 1923 in St. John Lutheran Church, Mapleton, Minn. by Rev. Paul Elsel. Viola graduated from the Mankato High School in 1926. She was certified as a teacher and then taught rural schools near Mankato. On June 19, 1940 she was married to Pastor Albert H. Guetzlaff in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Good Thunder, Minn., and the couple started their ministry in Isabelle, S. Dak. In December, 1941 they moved to the Elkport-Littleport, Ia. parish and in October, 1943 they moved to Wykoff, Minn., in September, 1948 they moved to Montgomery, Minn, in October, 1953 to Mapleton, Minn., and in December, 1957 they moved to Minneapolis where they served at St. Paul American Lutheran Church. In December, 1969 they moved to Gaylord, Minn., where they served Sibley Twp. Trinity Lutheran Church until retiring in June, 1980 when they moved to Waverly. Viola became ill while she and Pastor were driving to the west coast in June, returned to Waverly where she was admitted to the Waverly Municipal Hospital on June 24, and she became a resident of the Bartels Lutheran Home in Waverly on July 1, 1983. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly. Surviving are her husband, Pastor Albert H. Guetzlaff; three children, Pastor Albert J. Guetzlaff of Racine, WI, Mrs. Gary (Johanna) Kissell of Letts, Ia. and Karl E. Guetzlaff of Waterloo; six grandchildren and one brother, Chaunce A. Prange of Bemidji, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 13 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Waverly with Rev. David A. Solberg officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Waverly. The Guetzlaff family suggests that memorials be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church School.
