She was born April 17, 1924, in Ashtabula, Ohio, a daughter of Harley and Anna M. (Page) Simon Sr. A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Buie was employed by Andover Industries, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Andover Christian Church and the Retirees Club. She enjoyed playing cards and gardening. She especially loved violets and pansies. She loved to be with her family and grandchildren and was one to always put everyone else first. She loved her... Read More	April 1, 2011 Viola L. Buie Star Beacon ANDOVER — Viola L. Buie, age 86, of Andover, Ohio, died Thursday, March 31, 2011, at her home. She was born April 17, 1924, in Ashtabula, Ohio, a daughter of Harley and Anna M. (Page) Simon Sr. A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Buie was employed by Andover Industries, retiring in 1985. She was a member of Andover Christian Church and the Retirees Club. She enjoyed playing cards and gardening. She especially loved violets and pansies. She loved to be with her family and grandchildren and was one to always put everyone else first. She loved her cat, “Suzie”. Mrs. Buie married Francis H. “Pete” Buie Sr. on Dec. 21, 1940 and he preceded her in death on Jan. 20, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents; great-granddaughter, Lilliana Angel Buie; great-great grandson, Hayden Camp; and four brothers, Arthur, Homer, Franklin and Harley Simon Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Janet (Bob) Nejbauer of Glendale, Ariz., Judith (Keith Sr.) Camp of Rome, Ohio and Patricia Buie and Donna (Hallie) Adams, both of Andover, Ohio; son, Francis “Bo” (Joann) Buie Jr. of Tempe, Ariz.; 18 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters, Dora Stevens of Toccoa, Ga. and Joan Johnson of Jamestown, Pa.; two brothers, Robert (Ruth) Simon of Ashtabula, Ohio and Norman (Juanita) Simon of Jamestown, Pa.; one sister-in-law, Patricia Simon of Ashtabula, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews; and her close friend, Joanne Burlingham. The family would like to give our special thanks to Hospice of the Western Reserve caregivers and Doris, Denice, Dodie, Sue, Cindy and Joan. A Funeral Service will be held 1 p.m., Monday, April 4th, at BAUMGARDNER FUNERAL HOME, 134 Prospect St., Andover, Ohio, with Pastor Robert Gears officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Andover, Ohio. Calling Hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, April 3rd, at the Funeral Home.
