Description	:	Viola M. "Babe" Hoflund, 73, former Sioux City resident, died Tuesday, March 28, 1995, at a nursing home in Mesa, Ariz., following a long illness. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel with the Rev. Michael Last, of Augustana Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation, with the family present, will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Mrs. Hoflund, the former Viola M. Sorensen, was born July 24, 1921, in Irene, S. D. She graduated from Maskell (Neb.) High School and moved to Sioux City in 1939. She married James L. Anderson Jan. 14, 1942, in South Sioux City. He died April 10, 1960, in Sioux City. She married Arnold M. Hoflund Aug. 17, 1962, in Omaha. She was a resident of Sioux City until 1984, when she moved to Mesa. She had spent winters in Mesa since 1979. Mrs. Hoflund was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church. While living in Sioux City she was a member of Morningside Country Club and the former Boat Club. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Kay Borrett and her husband, Kenneth D. Jr. of Fort Collins, Colo.; a son, Dean J. Anderson of Fort Collins; a brother, Robert Sorensen and his wife, Sharon of Sioux City; a sister, Ira Hultgren and her husband, Kenneth of Akron, Iowa, and two grandsons, Tad and Jack Borrett. She was preceded in death by a brother. A memorial has been established in her name with the American Cancer Society. The Sioux City Journal, March 30, 1995
