Description	:	Viola May Christian, 77, of Ellensburg passed away on February 11, 1995 at her home in Ellensburg. She was born on April 19, 1917 in Tiger, Washington, a daughter of Alfred and Mary (Wooding) Page. She came to the Kittitas Valley with her parents and two older brothers when she was 2. She was born on April 19, 1917 in Tiger, Washington, a daughter of Alfred and Mary (Wooding) Page. She came to the Kittitas Valley with her parents and two older brothers when she was 2. She attended Damman Grade School and graduated from Kittitas High School. She was raised in a close family and grew up spending time with her brothers. She married Milbern Christian on August 8, 1950 in Couer D'Alene, Idaho. She spent her time raising her children and gardening. She enjoyed going camping and fishing. As her children got older she worked for Fitterer Furniture Store and then as a cook at Lincoln Grade School for 15 years, retiring in 1962. She always enjoyed being around children. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Naneum Grange, Pomona Grange, a 7th Degree Member of the State Grange and a member of the Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed grange meetings and the dances. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Milbern Christian of Ellensburg; son and daughter in law, Richard and Linda Hicks of Spokane; daughters and son in laws, Merlyn (Hicks) and Bob Sheckler of Seattle, Ruth (Hicks) and Bob Hamilton of Yakima and Polly Christian of Ellensburg; special daughter and son in law, Linda and Bill Newman of Ellensburg; nine grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 5 step great, grandchildren; younger brother; Robert (Audrey) Page of Enumclaw; sister in law, Lois Page of Ellensburg; and special friends, Sarah Stevens and Walt and Ruth Hall. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Edwin and Myron Page. She had special friends who visited her often during her illness who will also miss her. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 15, 1995 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Ellensburg, Washington. Viewing will be held at Steward & Williams Chapel on Tuesday, February 14, 1995 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. The family suggest memorials to Home Health Care, Hospice of Yakima or to the Naneum Grange.
