Marvel Murphy was at the register. Violet Katherine Wasson was born Oct 28, 1915, in Nebraska Township, Page County, Ia, the daughter of Roy and Rose (Bean) Rawlings. She died Dec 15, 1996, at the Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, Ia. She grew up in the Page County area and attended country school. She married Floyd Albert Wasson on July 7, 1935, in Maryville, Mo. The couple moved to Omaha, Ne, but returned to this area in 1953, then to Mills County in 1976, where they lived for five years, moving to Villisca in 1971 [1991?]. Violet was employed as a nurse's aide in nursing homes when they lived in Omaha and also as a cook at the Good Samaritan Center in Villisca. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons Loyd Wasson who died in infancy; and Ralph Wasson; brother-in-law Leland Stiverson, grandchildren Christina and Tracey Wasson and Carl Bowman; brothers Orville and Joe Rawlings. Survivors include daughter Rosie and husband Donald L. Bowman of Villisca; sons Harold and wife Frances Wasson of Plattsmouth, Ne, and Wayne and wife Anne Wasson of Villisca; brother Virgil Rawlings and wife Clara Mae of Phoenix, Az; sister Darlene Stiverson of Red Oak, Ia; sister-in-law Carolyn Rawlings of Bennington, Ne; twenty grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
