Memorials may be made to United Methodist Church, Wilton. Mrs. Witmer was born March 2, 1914, in West Branch, the daughter of Charles and Maud Branson Stratton. She married Robert L. Witmer on May 29, 1935, in West Branch. He preceded her in death in 1987. She attended Cornell College and taught in the rural schools of Cedar County. She and her husband farmed in Cedar County and later owned and operated at Quality Hardware, Wilton, for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Wilton, and a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star Purity Chapter. She was an active member of the Wilton Meal Site. She enjoyed hand and craft work and was a sports enthusiast. She enjoyed winters in south Texas for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sisters, Maureen Parry and Geraldine Daut. FuneralNet.com
