Violet Elvira Anderson was born on June 23, 1935 in Kenmare, ND, to Arthur and Marie (Anderson) Felan. She was raised and educated in the Kenmare area, graduating from Kenmare in 1953. Read More	Violet Torno, 86, Minot, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Edgewood Assisted Living in Minot. Violet Elvira Anderson was born on June 23, 1935 in Kenmare, ND, to Arthur and Marie (Anderson) Felan. She was raised and educated in the Kenmare area, graduating from Kenmare in 1953. Violet grew up on a farm in Kandiyohi Township. After graduation, Violet began her career in education by attending summer school in order to teach that fall in a one room schoolhouse. She would continue her education throughout the years, first obtaining a standard teaching certificate, and finally receiving her Bachelor's degree in Library Science and Elementary Education. Violet worked in many different areas of education, from teaching third grade to working in libraries and being an activity director. Violet moved to Minot in 1963. On June 2, 1968, she was united in marriage to Delton Torno in Minot. The couple made their home in Minot. Violet then began her second career raising their children and tending to the house. She was very active in her children's lives. Violet and Delton enjoyed wintering in Sun city, AZ for many years. But her heart was in ND and MN with her 5 grandchildren. They moved into Edgewood Vista in 2019. Violet loved to travel, first with her girlfriends and later with Delton, first as a companion at his architectural conventions and later on various cruises and other trips. She enjoyed entertaining friends and family, whether it be over coffee in a small group or during a large meal with many people. Violet also enjoyed crafts, sewing, gardening, and canning. Violet was a member of the Swedish Society, the Sons of Norway, the Homemaker's Club, Bible Study, Circle, and Christ Lutheran Church in Minot. Violet is survived by her husband, Delton, Minot; daughters, Michelle (Steven) Fundingsland, Minot, and Karletta (Calvin) Marwede, Bird Island, MN; grandchildren, Keaten and Colton Marwede and Michael, Stephanie, and Miyah Fundingsland; brothers, Andrew Felan, Sun City, AZ and Marvin Felan, Minot; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and long-time friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Marie Felan; parents-in-law, Emil and Emilia Torno; brother, Alvin Felan; and sisters-in-law Irma and Marie Felan. Funeral: Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Minot. Private Family Burial: Evangelical Lutheran Peace Cemetery, Max.
