Violet, daughter of Arthur and Pearl Raney Eggleston, was born November 25, 1906 in Montgomery County, Iowa. A 1926 graduate of Villisca High School, she had been a cook at the Villisca Country Club for several years. On January 1, 1928, Violet married John (Jack) Brenton in Villisca. She lived most of her life in the Villisca area, later moving to Blair to be near her sons. In November 1984, she moved to Waterloo and following a sever stroke in 1988, she lived in her daughter's home in Waterloo.'Violet was preceded in death by her husband in 1959 and son Bernard in 1983. Survivors include her son, Bill Brenton of Anita, Iowa; daughter Barbara Benson of Waterloo; daughter-in-law Karene Brenton Ryan of Blair; grandchildren, Teresa Miller of Merced, California, John Miller and Anna Rainey, both of Waterloo, Rochelle Dolan of Evansdale, Iowa, Duane Benson of Villisca, Laura Lloyd of Anderson, South Carolina,Dr. Bennett Brenton of Mundelein, Illinois, Barrett Brenton of Amherst, Maine, Wendie Brenton of Omaha, Nebraska, and Holly brenton of Anita. Also great grandchildren, Tenia Clark of Eugene, Oregon, Heather Miller of Seattle, Oregon, Barbara, Dana, and Rory, Jr., Dolan of Evansdale, Audrey and Amy Lloyd of Anderson, South Carolina, Adam and Jacqueline Rainey of Waterloo, John David Benson of Villisca, Brett Brenton of Mudeline, Alabama. Great great grandchildren; Kimberly and Blake Dolan of Evansdale; sister, Geraldine Zolber of Craigmont, Idaho; aunt Laura Fennel of San Leandro, California; six sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
