Violet was a homemaker. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was the historian for the Emporia Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.). Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 12, 2012 at First United Methodist Church of Emporia. The service will be conducted by Pastor Austin Rivera of the church. A private burial will take place at Americus Cemetery in Americus, Kansas. A visitation will be Wednesday evening, July 11, 2012 from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia. A memorial has been established for Emporia Friends of the Zoo.
