Born Jan. 17, 1922, in Kingston, she was the daughter of John and Ruby Young Brown. On Jan. 17, 1945, she married Donald Dewey Harryman in Burlington. She graduated from Sperry High School in 1941. During World War II, she worked at the Newport, R.I., torpedo station. She worked for 20 years at Van Buren County Hospital and had a wallpapering business with Erma Hootman. She was a member of Oak Grove Church, Oak Grove Church Ladies Aid, and the Twin City Chapter 258 Order of Eastern Star in Douds. She participated in Keosauqua Grey Ladies and Daughters of the American Revolution. She enjoyed working the family farm, doing needlework, quilting, gardening, fishing and camping. Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Sharon Scott of Dallas City, Ill.; two sons, Kenneth Harryman of Shawnee, Kan., and Marvin Harryman of Burlington; seven grandchildren; six great–grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Pearson of Kingston and Hazel Harl of Waukegan, Ill.; and one brother, Willard Brown of Kingston. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mrs. Harryman will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Grove Church, with the Revs. Len Garrison and Harold Harryman officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Douds. Memorials have been established for Oak Grove Church and Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
