Description	:	Obituary From the "Ottumwa Courier," August 5, 1955: Mrs. Virgie McCoy, 81, of 118 South Ward street, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Elsie's nursing home, 1021 Hackberry street. The daughter of Edward and Alice Chambers, she was born January 3, 1874, at Agency. Her marriage to Frank McCoy took place November 29, 1893, in Agency. He died January 24, 1938. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors and of the Wesley Methodist church, for which she was a Sunday school teacher and director of the Young Men's Christian class from 1914 to 1926. The daughter of Edward and Alice Chambers, she was born January 3, 1874, at Agency. Her marriage to Frank McCoy took place November 29, 1893, in Agency. He died January 24, 1938. Surviving are one son, Clifford McCoy of Ottumwa; four daughters, Mrs. Margaret Mullenix, Mrs. Inez Meagher and Mrs. Millie [sic] Robertson, all of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Edith Ellis of Omaha; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen, in 1934, by a brother, Win Chambers, and by three sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at the Jay funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Wilson Hyde, pastor of the Wesley Methodist church. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery
