Description	:	STEFFENS, VIRGIL ALEXANDER—Virgil Alexander Steffens was born to Bernhard C. Steffens and Alma Quathamer Steffens on August 31, 1915, at Strang, and passed away June 14, 1988, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 14 days. He was one of three children in the family. Virgil was a lifelong resident of Fillmore county. He graduated from the Strang High School in the Class of 1932. Norris of Plainvew on November 5, 1940, and to them two children were born. Virgil loved to work in his yard and garden. His dogs were also very special to him. Virgil was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Harold and Curtis Steffens. He is survived by his wife, Helen; daughters, Phyllis (Mrs. Ira) Steiger of Hastings and Carol Steffens of Salt Lake City, Utah, son-in-law, Ira Steiger, and step-grandchildren, Kelly Sejkora and Kristopher Steiger and their families. Graveside services were conducted at the Geneva Public cemetery on Thursday, June 16, with the Rev. Charles Schepel officiating. The Nebraska Signal 23rd June 1988 page 5.
