Description	:	Virgil L. Kasal, 84, of Chelsea, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016 at St. Luke’s in Cedar Rapids, IA. Virgil L. Kasal was born January 31, 1932 to William and Amelia (Chesick) Kasal. Virgil was educated in the rural schools of Tama County. A Korean War Veteran he served in the Army from 1952-1954. He truly enjoyed going on the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Virgil married Irene Kent on March 21, 1953 in California. He lived and farmed on the Kasal Century Farm since 1966, raising cattle and crops. Case tractors were his favorite. Kasal was born January 31, 1932 to William and Amelia (Chesick) Kasal. Virgil was educated in the rural schools of Tama County. A Korean War Veteran he served in the Army from 1952-1954. He truly enjoyed going on the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Virgil married Irene Kent on March 21, 1953 in California. He lived and farmed on the Kasal Century Farm since 1966, raising cattle and crops. Case tractors were his favorite. Virgil loved to tinker with old engines and equipment to make them run. He also loved animals, especially his cats and dogs. He always enjoyed a good joke. Virgil is survived by his wife, Irene Kasal of Chelsea and son, David Kasal of Chelsea along with many more loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gerald and Richard and sister-in-law Beverly. A Graveside Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at National Cemetery in Vining, IA with Rev. Charles Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2016 at Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine. Obituary & photo published by Hrabak Funeral Home in Belle Plaine.
