Description	:	Virgil Leroy Lusk, 85, of Minden died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at Kearney County Health Services, Long Term Care in Minden. Services were held Thursday at First Christian Church in Minden with the Rev. Kathy Bryant officiating. Burial was in the Minden Cemetery with military honors by the Minden American Legion and the Heartwell Veterans of Foreign Wars. Read More	Virgil Leroy Lusk, 85, of Minden died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at Kearney County Health Services, Long Term Care in Minden. Services were held Thursday at First Christian Church in Minden with the Rev. Kathy Bryant officiating. Burial was in the Minden Cemetery with military honors by the Minden American Legion and the Heartwell Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was born Nov. 10, 1922, in Fairmont to Ralph and Bertha (Hickmon) Lusk. On Dec. 25, 1943, he married Ruth Daily in Smith Center, Kan. Survivors include his wife; daughter, Candice Warrington of Gibbon; and six great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include his son-in-law, James Warrington of Gibbon; grandsons, Kris Warrington and his wife, Pam, of Shelton, Brion Warrington and his wife, Tausha, of Omaha and Daniel Warrington and his wife, Jamie, of Gibbon; and numerous nieces and nephews. He graduated from York High School in 1941. He joined the U.S. Navy in January 1942 and served in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged in December 1947. He was employed with the Minden Police Department and the Kearney County Sheriff's Office until 1970 and then worked as officer of the day for the Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center until his retirement in 1984. During his retirement he was involved with various jobs throughout the community and enjoyed doing woodwork, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Throughout his life he was a member of First Christian Church, American Legion and the VFW, all in Minden. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; grandson, Jon Warrington; and three great-grandchildren.
