Pallbearers will be his brothers-in-law. The casket arrived in Ottumwa early today and was removed to the Johnson chapel. Grear, a former local butcher and a veteran of World war II, was stabbed during an argument in a Chicago tavern on August 7. His assailant ran from the scene and is still at large. The victim moved from Ottumwa to Chicago about two years ago. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Grear of 1810 East Main street. Besides his parents, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Betty C. Beintema, Stockton, Calif., and Mrs. Joyce A. Rankin and Terry Rae Grear, both of Ottumwa; three brothers, Claude Grear, Chicago, and Fred and Bill Grear, both of Ottumwa, and six sisters, Mrs. Jean Lewis, Mrs. Betty Landtiser, Mrs. Marguerite Hall, Mrs. Mary Welch and Mrs. Darlene Poncy, all of Ottumwa, and Mrs. Irene Stewart of Eddyville. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
