Mrs. Timko was born Oct. 29, 1919, in Kennedyville, daughter of the late Oliver and Nellie Jones Atwell. As a young woman she moved to Wilmington, where she was employed as an office manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. for nearly 30 years, retiring in 1974. Timko, 87 KENNEDYVILLE, Md. - Virginia A. Timko of Kennedyville died Sunday, April 15, 2007, in Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown. She was 87. Mrs. Timko was born Oct. 29, 1919, in Kennedyville, daughter of the late Oliver and Nellie Jones Atwell. As a young woman she moved to Wilmington, where she was employed as an office manager for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. for nearly 30 years, retiring in 1974. In 1977 Mrs. Timko and her husband returned to Kennedyville, where she was a member of Kennedyville United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Stephen Timko, in December 2005; and a brother, Allan Atwell. She is survived by a brother, Clifton Atwell; four sisters, Frances A. Money, Mary Hill, Dorothy Pinder and Margaret Miller, all of Kennedyville; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday in Kennedyville United Methodist Church. Burial will be in adjoining cemetery. Pallbearers are nephews Alan Hill, Jay Hill, Harold Miller Jr., James Miller, Wayne Pinder and Gary Pinder. Memorials contributions may be offered to the Kennedyville U.M. Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 32, Kennedyville, MD 21645. Arrangements by Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, Galena.
