Description	:	Virginia “Ginny” Kolden Bowman, 74 formerly of Devils Lake, died on October 2, 2014 in Williston, ND with her family by her side. Virginia Kolden was born February 22, 1940, the daughter of Elizabeth May (Loudon) Kolden and Olaf Kolden, at Lakota, ND. She graduated from Crary High School. Read More	Virginia “Ginny” Kolden Bowman, 74 formerly of Devils Lake, died on October 2, 2014 in Williston, ND with her family by her side. Virginia Kolden was born February 22, 1940, the daughter of Elizabeth May (Loudon) Kolden and Olaf Kolden, at Lakota, ND. She graduated from Crary High School. After graduation she married Marlin Amundson and they made their home in Helena, Montana. The marriage ended in divorce after three years. In 1960, Virginia married John Greenlees and they made their home in Vancouver, British Columbia and several other locations until moving to Devils Lake in 1966. To this marriage, four wonderful children were born; Eric, Dale, Jeff and Lori Ann. This marriage ended after 7 years, but Virginia continued to make her home in Devils Lake, where she was employed by North Dakota Telephone Company for 14 years. In 1987, she married Norman Bowman and moved to Grand Forks where she was employed by First National Bank and Grand Forks Economic Development. In 1992, Mr. Bowman died and Virginia moved back to Devils Lake in 1995 where she was employed by Edward Jones Investments in Devils Lake until her retirement in April 2000. In 1997, Virginia began working part-time at Kmart in Devils Lake. This was a job she dearly loved. She was active in Business and Professional Women’s Club and was the State President 1998-99. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. She served as President of the Church Council in 1977 and again in 2001. She enjoyed the quilting group at Our Savior’s and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School there for several years and was involved in Esther Circle. In later years she joined Peace Lutheran Church and was very happy there but later returned to Our Savior’s. Virginia was a member of Pioneer Daughters and served as Treasurer for the organization for several years. She enjoyed working in the Pioneer Daughters Museum at Fort Totten. Her hobbies included making sweaters and afghans, which she gave as gifts. Virginia knitted many sweaters and sent them to “Guideposts Knit for Kids”. She also enjoyed doing cross-stitch and reading. Survivors include: Daughter, Lori (Danny) Nass, Williston; Daughter- In-Law, Kelly Greenlees, Grand Forks; Grandchildren, Karin (Kevin) Isom, Cashion, OK; Jacob, Jenna and Jessica Greenlees, Grand Forks and Alyssa (Zach) Meyer, Williston; Great Grandchildren, Kenzie, Kyndal and Kamryn Isom and Elli Ann Meyer; Sisters, Edith (Syl) Brown, Devils Lake, Frances Eidsness, Brocket; Brother, Bruce (Donna) Kolden, Fargo and several nieces and nephews; Stepchildren, Lori Fleming and Norma Kopperdahl, Montana along with their children, Jamie, Cassie, Chance, Tyler, Brandon and Laura. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Norm in 1992; sons, Eric John Greenlees in 1981, Dale Bruce Greenlees in 1999 and Jeffrey Allen Greenlees in 1994 and brother-in-law, Mervin Eidsness. Funeral Services will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with burial in the Devils Lake Cemetery.
