She was born November 16, 1921 in Friendship, to the late Dr. William H. and Lela Stallings. She was a graduate of Friendship High School and Ward Belmont College. Read More	VIRGINIA DARE WILLIAMS, 86, of Germantown, died Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis. She was born November 16, 1921 in Friendship, to the late Dr. William H. and Lela Stallings. She was a graduate of Friendship High School and Ward Belmont College. She was married for 67 years to her childhood sweetheart M. V. Williams, Jr. They resided in Friendship until their retirement to Germantown several years ago. Virginia Dare was Mrs. Homemaker of the Mid-South in 1957. She was an active member of the Crockett County Cancer Society, the American Heart Association and a Pink Lady at the Regional Medical Center in Jackson, Tennessee. She was named Woman of the Year by the Crockett County Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Eastern Star, Daughter of the American Revolution, and United Daughters of the Confederacy. Mrs. Williams served as organist and pianist at the Friendship Baptist Church and the Friendship United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Germantown United Methodist Church. She loved to travel and was blessed to enjoy many trips with family and friends. She shared her love of music with everyone including sing-a-longs with her neighbors at The Village. She lit up the room whenever she walked in and was always the life of the party. For her, the glass was always half full. There will never be another like her. She was a great mom and a great friend. Mrs. Williams is survived by her husband, M. V. Williams , Jr.; two sons, Bill Williams and his wife, Alice, of Friendship and Mike Williams and his wife Gay, of Memphis; two daughters, Brenda Dare Pugh and Dotty Harriman of Germantown; seven grandchildren, and five great- grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Friendship Funeral Home in Friendship, Tennessee on Monday, December 17, at 4 p.m. and at Germantown United Methodist Church in Germantown at 9 a.m. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Germantown United Methodist Church. Graveside services will be held in Belle Vernon Cemetery in Friendship, on Tuesday, December 18, at 3 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2935 US Highway 45 Bypass, Jackson, TN 38305 (Published in The Commercial Appeal on December 17, 2007)
