Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Kenwood Park Presbyterian Church, by the Rev. Duane Hix. Interment: Saturday, Oliphant Cemetery. Her parents and daughter, Claire Ellen, preceded her in death. Virginia was born May 15, 1931, in Cedar Rapids, to Clair and Frances Martin, Ellis. She graduated from Toddville High School in 1948 as the valedictorian, attended Cedar Rapids Business College and later Kirkwood Community College. She married Richard D. Crissinger in 1950; they were married 32 years. She was co-owner and vice president of Crissinger Construction Inc., a charter member and past president of the Cedar Rapids Homebuilders Auxiliary, a charter member of the Kennedy High School Booster Club, and a longtime member of Kenwood Park Presbyterian Church, former deacon and Sunday school teacher, and a Cub Scout den mother. Virginia also worked as a secretary and bookkeeper in Cedar Rapids for many years. She enjoyed travel, crossword puzzles and Scrabble and especially, he family.
