Description	:	VIRGINIA F. HUNSAKER, 88, Lima, died at 11:35 a.m. June 5, 2003, at her residence. She was born Sept. 22, 1914, in Cincinnati, to Lewis H. and Julia L. Schoettley Grundisch, who preceded her in death. On June 24, 1937, she married Robert Hunsaker, who died Feb. 14, 1988. Mrs. Hunsaker had been a registered nurse for the Allen County Health Department from 1958 to 1964. Schoettley Grundisch, who preceded her in death. On June 24, 1937, she married Robert Hunsaker, who died Feb. 14, 1988. Mrs. Hunsaker had been a registered nurse for the Allen County Health Department from 1958 to 1964. She had been a private duty nurse, a visiting nurse and an industrial nurse at Westinghouse Electric Corp. from 1942-1944, Ex-Cell-O Corp., Clark Equipment, Superior Coach and Vistron. She had also worked in the pharmacy at Lima Memorial Hospital. She had been a volunteer for the Easter Seal Society for 23 years, serving as president for three years; the Lima Memorial Hospital Alumni Association, serving as president for one year; the Red Cross Blood Mobile for more than 20 years; the Lima Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; and as a Cub Scout den mother from 1953 to 1954. In 1976, she was named the Soroptomist Woman of the Year. She was a 1936 graduate of Lima Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Survivors include a son, Charles R. (Patricia) Hunsaker of Columbus, Ga.; two granddaughters, Tracy (David) Hayes of Toledo and Jody Hunsaker of Columbus, Georgia; two great-grandsons, Sebastian Hunsaker-Russel and Xander Hunsaker-Russel, both of Columbus, Georgia; and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth M. Burwell and LaVerne H. Maxwell. Services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Immanual Lutheran Church. The Rev. Michael Phillips will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lima Memorial Hospital, Immanuel Lutheran Church or Easter Seal Society. Condolences may be sent to [email protected]
