Description	:	Virginia (Jeannie) O'Malley, age 84, of Webster City, IA died Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 29, 2015 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Rev. Stephen Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with recitation of the Rosary to begin at 2:00 p.m. and a scripture service at 5:00 p.m. Virginia Mae Walsh, daughter of Joseph and Matilda (nee Waldron) Walsh, was born June 13, 1931 at Waukon. She attended French Creek Country School and graduated from Waukon Public High School. On August 22, 1950, she married Leo Thomas O'Malley at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Waukon. The couple had resided at McGregor, Waterloo and Dubuque. They moved to Webster City in 1956. Jeannie worked for 28 years for the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School lunch program. She spent many winters with her daughter and family in Arizona. Leo preceded her in death on February 26, 2011. Jeannie is survived by sons, John O'Malley of Fort Dodge, Mark O'Malley of Webster City; daughters, Mary Jo (Terry) Halder of Tucson, AZ, Donna (Don) Johnston of Idaho Falls, ID; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Lois (Harold) Hanson of Dubuque; many nieces and nephews; special family friends, Terri Churchley, Cindy Howard and Cathy Oswald. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Jack, Francis and Kenneth Walsh; sisters, Lucille Garvig, Marie Vaaler, Dorothy Anfinson, Margaret Walsh and Lorraine Mann. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters. A former member of the Moose Family Center and she was chosen to be "Principal for the Day" at St. Thomas School. Jeannie was proud of her Irish heritage and loved to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. She loved cooking, canning and playing cards. Jeannie was devoted to her husband Leo and her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be given to St. Thomas Aquinas School, Meals on Wheels or the Alzheimer's Association. The family would like to thank Hamilton County Home Health Care and Unity Point Hospice for their help in caring for Jeannie. A very special thank you to Jo Weber and Jan Crane for the time they spent with Jeannie, providing exceptional care and friendship. Jeannie loved her faith, family and friends. She was a wonderful mother to us all. She will be remembered for her smile, laughter and joy of life. She will be dearly missed by all.
