She loved children, sewing, and reading her Bible. Virginia was born January 22, 1924 in Gordon, NE, to the late Chester Bennett Skanadore and to the late Grace Nern Skanadore. She is survived by one daughter, Janice (Robert) Barnett of Buchanan, TN; one son, Richard (Cindy) Ostrander of Lawrence, KS; two sisters, Carmen Reisdorph of Mobile, AL and Sharon Skanadore; four grandchildren, Nikki Scott of New Orleans, LA, Heidi (Sam) Farkasdi of Enterprise, AL, Ryan (Juliet) Ostrander of Cincinnati, OH, and Chris (Betsy) Ostrander of Lawrence, KS. Along with her parents, first husband, and second husband, she was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Charles Robert Skanadore and Nern Skanadore. Visitation will be Saturday, March 28, 2020, from 9:00 am – 10:30 am at Chamberlain – Pier Funeral Home, 101 N. Main Street, Gordon, NE 69343. A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 28, 2020 at 11:00 am at Fairview Cemetery in Rushville NE, with her son, Richard Ostrander officiating. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
