She was born on August 7, 1908 in Fremont, Nebraska. She graduated from Fremont High School and completed training as a psychiatric registered nurse at Bergen Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She worked for three years as a college nurse at Peru State College in Peru, Nebraska before moving to Beatrice in 1962. She was born on August 7, 1908 in Fremont, Nebraska. She graduated from Fremont High School and completed training as a psychiatric registered nurse at Bergen Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She worked for three years as a college nurse at Peru State College in Peru, Nebraska before moving to Beatrice in 1962. She was then the owner-operator of the Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home on East Scott Street in Beatrice for 15 years. She also owned and operated nursing homes in Peru and Auburn, Nebraska. She retired from nursing in 1977 after 50 years. She was a member of the Business and Professional Women’s organization of Beatrice. She was also a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church of Beatrice where she had volunteered for many church activities. She enjoyed golfing and had been a member of the Beatrice Country Club. Survivors include one daughter, Joan Rains of Beatrice, Nebraska. Two grandchildren Debra Krajicek and her husband Robert of St. Joseph, Missouri and Sandra Freese of Plymouth, Nebraska. Three great-grandchildren, Sonya and Shawn Freese and Crystal Wiebe. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Emma Lee Moore Falconer, four brothers Ted, Jim, Mike and Paul Falconer and son-in-law, Duane Rains. Memorial graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 at 2:30 P.M. at the Wyuka Cemetery in Nebraska City, Nebraska with Rev. Cindy Karges officiating. A memorial has been established to the family’s choice with the Fox Funeral Home in charge. A register book for signatures will be available at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice, Nebraska until 10:00 A.M. Wednesday morning. A guestbook for signatures and messages of condolence is also available online at www.foxfuneralhome.net. Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice, Nebraska in charge of arrangements.
