Read More	Virginia Maye Anderson (August 26, 1922 - October 31, 2013) Burial: Kiron Cemetery, Kiron, Iowa Virginia Maye Anderson was born at Ida Grove, Iowa, August 26, 1922, the daughter of Clyde Cecil and Garnet Emily Dixon Crawford and was received into God's Kingdom of Grace through baptism at Faith Community Church, Ida Grove, in 1943. She was raised at Ida Grove graduating from the Ida Grove High School with the class of 1940. Following high school she taught in rural schools in Ida and Crawford Counties. On October 24, 1942, Virginia was united in marriage with Myron Anderson in South Sioux City, Nebraska. Their union was blessed to adopt three children, Richard, Roger and David. They made their homes at Elk Point and Vermillion, South Dakota before returning to Iowa and purchasing a farm near Schleswig. Myron died October 30, 1978, and following his death Virginia retired to Kiron, Iowa, spending many winters in Arizona. On May 24, 1986, Virginia was united in marriage with Ward Anderson at the First Baptist Church in Kiron. They made their home in Kiron until moving to Denison in 1995. In 2004 they moved to Willow Dale Wellness Village in Battle Creek, Iowa, where Ward's death occurred July 22, 2011. Virginia was a member of First Baptist Church, Kiron, Iowa, where she had been a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Women's Missionary Society. While residing in Vermillion she was a member of her church's Ladies Aid. Other organizations she enjoyed memberships in were the Farmerette Club at Schleswig and the American Legion Auxiliary in Kiron. In her leisure time Virginia enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, flowers and reading. Virginia died Thursday afternoon, October 31, 2013, at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove, Iowa. At the time of her death she had been blessed with 91 years, 2 months and 5 days. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Garnet Crawford, her husbands, Myron and Ward Anderson, one son, David Anderson, one brother, Bruce Crawford, granddaughter, Elizabeth Anderson and step-granddaughter, Jodie Riedemann. Those remaining to cherish her memory include two sons and their spouses: Richard and Catherine Anderson of Denison, Iowa, and Roger and Martha Anderson of Ida Grove, Iowa; daughter-in-law: Yu Sook Anderson of Trenton, New Jersey; 3 grandchildren: 4 step grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren; one sister, Velma Sonichsen of Surprise, Arizona; sister-in-law, Betty Church and husband Cecil of Sioux City, Iowa; special friend Karen Bumann, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
