Read More	FERRYMAN, Virginia R. 87, of Mechanicsburg passed away on Friday, January 22, 2016. She was born on May 5, 1928 in Mechanicsburg, OH to Haskel and Mildred (Ballard) Jordan. She married the love of her life and World War II veteran days after graduation from high school. They were married sixty-five years. Over the years they enjoyed camping with the Hoot Owls camping club and traveling. They had many travel adventures and always enjoyed sharing those adventures on the road with close friends and family. She was a 52- year member of Eastern Star Caroline Chapter and served in many offices. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She always had an open heart for those needing advice and encouragement. She liked to keep up with current events and worked many years for the Board of Elections at the polls. Her wish was to remain independent and keep driving. She accomplished this even on the last day of her life. She was the most loving and caring person and will be missed each day. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Kenneth) Fluty of Mechanicsburg, a granddaughter, Kellie (William) Clark of Springfield and her great-grandsons, Braeden, Evan, and Keagen. She is also survived by her sister, Ann Runya and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother Russel and devoted husband Ralph "Junior" Ferryman. She was also preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law John (Ted) and Thelma Edwards and brother -in-law Richard Runyan.A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday January 27, 2016 in the SKILLMAN, MCDONALD & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, where Eastern Star services will follow at 6:00 p.m.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2016 in the funeral home with Pastor Mimi Ault officiating. Burial will follow in McConkey Cemetery.And finally, we believe Virginia would be happiest to know that those reading this would be inspired to open their hearts to help others as she tried to do during her life. Run errands for someone or deliver a bowl of soup. Shovel snow or vacuum their home and tidy their flower beds. Find unexpected ways to help someone in your family or neighborhood, especially our elders as they are treasures to us in so many ways.
