Vivian Arlene Fulton was born December 10, 1918 in Page County, IA, the daughter of William Delford Orme and Hettie Jane (Van Alstine) Orme. Arlene attended Orme Country School through the eighth grade. On February 25, 1939 she was united in marriage to Hal Henry Fulton at the Corning Methodist parsonage. They were blessed with three sons, Lee, Darrel and Dale. Arlene and Hal farmed in the Nodaway area where they raised their family. Arlene was a wonderful cook, known for her pies, brownies, candies, gum drop cake and delicious meals. She had a large vegetable and flower garden and did a lot of canning. Arlene hunted Indian Artifacts and also collected coins and stamps. She also enjoyed crocheting and sewing and gifted the family with many potholders at Christmas. She was a member of the North Grove Methodist Church and Ladies Aid. Arlene also belonged to the local neighborhood club and the Nodaway Saddle Club and enjoyed riding in the Sidney Rodeo grand entry. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of seventy years, Hal Fulton of Villisca, IA; sons, Lee Fulton and wife Shari of Nodaway, Iowa and Darrel Fulton and wife Cathi of Villisca, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Jodi and Steve Haer, Jeff and Kristie Fulton, Shona and Clint Means, Jill Fulton and fiance Joel Mahr, Chad Fulton, Kadee and Shane Myers and Laci and Brian Schafer; ten great grandchildren, Amanda and Brett Fulton, Morganne, Lexie and Maggie Haer, Kelsey and Tyler Means, Tallen and Cade Myers and Kase Schafer; sister, Phyllis Miller and husband Donnie of Clarinda, Iowa; brother, Charlie Orme and wife Shirley of Clarinda, Iowa; sister-in-law, Norma Orme of Northboro, Iowa; nieces, nephews and many friends. Preceding Arlene in death were her parents; son, Dale Fulton; brothers, Marvin, Bus, Homer, Clifford; sisters, Mae, Thelma and Amy. Arlene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother; and will be missed, but her love and inspiration will live on through her family. May God grant comfort and strength to those who mourn Arlene's passing.
