Obituary: The Saint Croix Courier, Wednesday, Sept 25 1987 VIVIAN BLANCHE WALDRON The death of Vivian Blanche Waldron occurred at Lincourt Manor, St. Stephen Aug 29. Born at Central Tower Hill, May 7 1898, Vivian was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Loring) Waldron. Vivian attended Provincial Normal School. After graduating she taught in Little Ridge, Florenceville and North Head, Grand Manan, the later two of which she served as principal. She graduated from Acadia University in 1928 and in December of that year went to India as a Baptist Missionary. While in India she served in the areas of Babbilli, Tuni, Pithapuran, Samalkat, Akividu, Tihbali, Anakepelle and Yellamanchili. She spent 37 years in India. She was also author of a book "Lessons For Christian Growth" written in Telugu. Miss Waldron was a member of Union Street United Baptist Church, Dominion Life Member of Vivian Waldron's Missionary Society, Past Member of Quaintance Club, a former Sunday School Teacher. She was a past member of the Canadian Club, Historical Society, and Executivery United Baptist Women's Missionary Union. She is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral service was held at the Union Street United Baptist Church, St. Stephen. The minister, Rev. J.L. Knowles officiated, assisted by Rev. Lynn Stairs, Canadian Baptist Overseas Mission Board; Dr Eugene Thompson, Executive-Minister of the Convention; Rev. James Cowan, vice-president of the convention and Rev. Murray Armstrong, St. Andrews. Pallbearers were Jack MacNeill, Lloyd Parsons, Myles DeLong, Foster Harding, Bernard McFarlane and Clifton Doran. Interment too place at the Moores Mills Cemetery.
