EDWARD - Vivian Irene Plebanek, 63, of St. Edward died Thursday, Feb. 15, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Miller-Levander Funeral Home in St. Edward. Mrs. Plebanek was born Nov. 28, 1932, in Genoa to George and Florence (Poole) Kaufman. She attended Big Cut grade school northwest of Genoa and graduated from Genoa High School in 1950. She married Clarence Plebanek on May 27, 1952, in Columbus. They lived and farmed eight miles southwest of St. Edward until 1980, when they moved into St. Edward. Mrs. Plebanek worked as a nurse;s aide at Cloverlodge Care Center for 19 years. She was a member of the St. Edward Catholic Church and Altar Society, an art club and served as a 4-H leader while her children were growing up. She is survived by her husband; one son, Jim of St. Edward; five daughters, Monica (Mrs. Leon) Meerkatz of Desher, Janet (Mrs. Dan) Molt of Albion, Kim (Mrs. Kevin) Knight and Denise (Mrs. Kevin) Mohr, both of Grand Island, and Betsy (Mrs. Glen) Bonifas of Roseland; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and three sisters, Ruth Little and Marlene (Mrs. Robert) Sherlock, both of Omaha, and Shirley (Mrs. Fred) Vetick of Columubs. She was preceded in death by one sister, Alice Kaufman.
