Description	:	Wade Samuel Blume, 93, of Starr, SC, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at his home. Born on November 7, 1928, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late George Blume and Gertrude Blume Fisher. He was retired from Owens Corning, where he worked for over 30 years. He attended Gethsemane Baptist Temple in Starr and was a charter member of the church. Also, he was a Korean War veteran, having served in the US Army. Read More	Wade Samuel Blume, 93, of Starr, SC, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at his home. Born on November 7, 1928, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late George Blume and Gertrude Blume Fisher. He was retired from Owens Corning, where he worked for over 30 years. He attended Gethsemane Baptist Temple in Starr and was a charter member of the church. Also, he was a Korean War veteran, having served in the US Army. Beginning as young man and continuing into adulthood, Wade enjoyed singing and playing guitar with his brother, Roy, and other members of his family, including his son and nephews. It was a rare weekend when live music wasn't heard at Wade's home on Bowie Street in Starr. He is survived by his wife: Opal Ann Blume; children: Shirley Nilsen (Stewart), Marilyn Bull (Jim), Gary Blume (Morgan), and Roger Blume (Stacy); adopted Son: Niki Parks (Cynthia); stepsons: Larry (Shirley), Wayne, and Ronald Allen; half sister: Patsy Heaton; as well as eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife: Elsie Miller Blume; children: Rebecca, Wade Steven, Dale, and Gale; and his siblings: Roy Blume, Harold Blume, Lucille Scott, and Emma Daniel. Funeral services were held at 2 pm on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Gethsemane Baptist Temple in Starr, officiated by Rev. Sam Duncan. Interment at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
