He was a 1939 graduate of P.K. Yonge Laboratory School, received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Engineering from the University of Florida and served for 30 years as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Florida. Read More	Wallace Feaster Zetrouer II died March 28, 2010 in Gainesville, FL. He was born in Madison, Florida March 14, 1922 and at an early age moved to Rochelle, Florida. He was a 1939 graduate of P.K. Yonge Laboratory School, received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Engineering from the University of Florida and served for 30 years as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Florida. During WWII, he was instrumental in the research and development of components for the radio proximity fuse used by the military. He was also instrumental in the development of weather radar tower systems in the 1940's at the old Gainesville Army Air Corp Base. He was owner of the Zetrouer Plantation, a tree farm near the Rochelle area in Alachua County. He was a member of the Gainesville Masonic Lodge No. 41, York Rite and Scottish Rite Masons, York Cross of Honor, Morocco Temple Shrine and the Gainesville Shrine Club. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Gainesville. Mr. Zetrouer is survived by his cousin, Larry Milton; godson, Hunter M. Brown; close friends, Lee Crews, Thomas Jenkins, Eddie Weems and members of the Piney Woods Hunt Club. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 30, 2010 5:30-7:00 pm at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME 404 N. Main St. Funeral Services for Mr. Zetrouer will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at 11:00AM at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Harold Henderson and Rev. Carl Romey officiating. A reception will follow at the church. Interment will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery following the reception, Gainesville Lodge No. 41 will be conducting graveside rights. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Rochelle Methodist Church Restoration Project P.O. Box 43 Gainesville, FL. 32602.
