At a young age they moved to Haigler, where Wallace graduated from Haigler High School. Wallace started a Chrysler/Plymouth dealership in Haigler in the late 1940s. He moved to North Platte in 1955 after buying the Chrysler/Plymouth dealership here, which he was involved in for 50 years. Wally married Betty Foster in 1965 in North Platte.
