Jerry was born January 19, 1933 in Snoqualmie to Edward Harry Briggs and Pearl Viola (McClain) Briggs. During his childhood, he lived in Walla Walla and Rock Island and graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1952. Following graduation, Jerry served with the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Pensacola, Florida. Jerry was born January 19, 1933 in Snoqualmie to Edward Harry Briggs and Pearl Viola (McClain) Briggs. During his childhood, he lived in Walla Walla and Rock Island and graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1952. Following graduation, Jerry served with the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Pensacola, Florida. He served with the Navy as a Plane Captain until he was honorably discharged to the Naval Reserve August 28, 1959. He served in the Naval Reserve until November 1, 1964. Jerry then moved to Seattle, where he attended the Automation Institute of Seattle studying the operation, wiring and programming of IBM machines. In 1971, he met Pauline Eva Petit. They married August 28, 1971 and had three sons. Jerry worked for Lamb Weston of Quincy for 20 years and was a member of Teamsters Local No. 760. He retired in 2001. Jerry will be remembered as a hardworking and loving father to his three sons. He always put the needs of others ahead of his own. He was always generous and kind. Jerry loved fishing and bowling. He enjoyed pinochle, cribbage, and rummy with his family and friends. Jerry is survived by three sons, Patrick of Mukilteo, Ira of Yakima, and Kristopher of Ellensburg; one grandson, Jared of Yakima; one brother, Donald of Bridgeport; one nephew, Richard of Rock Island; and two nieces, Kerry Housden of Brewster, and Cathy Thompson of Naches. Jerry's sons would like to thank Richard Briggs for his care of our father during the last year. Services will be held at the First Church of God, 1st SE & Rock Island Road, East Wenatchee on November 1, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park. Arrangements are in the care of Telford's Chapel of the Valley.
