He was born in Decatur, Ill., on Feb. 28, 1916, to Walter Herman and Iva Turner Kortum. He married Edith Holly on oct. 12, 1939, they were later divorced. He is survived by five sons, Ronald Kortum and his wife, Dorothy of Raynesford, MT., Holly Kortum and his wife, Betty of Belt, MT., Dennis Kortum and his wife, Ande of Ekalaka, MT., Roger Kortum and his wide, Debi of Gillette, WY., and Tim Kortum of Terry, MT.; four daughters, Jeanette Abel and her husband, Terry of Okanogan, WA., Yvonne Kincheloe and her husband, Art of Melstone, MT., Helen Stevens of Ekalaka and Debra Louvar and her husband, Dave of Big Sandy, MT.; 28 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Holly and Doris Willson both of Ekalaka; a niece that he was especially close to, JoAn Marshall; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11, at the Carter County High School Gymnasium in Ekalaka. JoAn Marshall will be conducting services. I lieu of flowers, should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Ambulance Fund or Swimming Pool Fund. Stevenson Funeral Home of Ekalaka is in charge of the arrangements.
