Read More	DIED IN HOSPITAL ON TUESDAY One of the community's most highly regarded former seafood packers, Mr. Walter Sears, died in the McCready Hospital here Tuesday, after an illness of about three years. Born in this community, he was the son of the late Orin and Sallie Lawson Sears, and the husband of Mrs. Anna Sears. Mr. Sears had been engaged in the seafood business all his life until his retirement several years ago, had been energetic and attentive to his business, and had been successful in it. He was a man of strong convictions, a warm friend, and in his business came into contact with men from all sections of tidewater Maryland, who held him in high regard and esteem. He was interested in political and civic affairs, and had been active in both for many years. He had been a member of Asbury Methodist Church for many years, and was regular in attendance there and enjoyed its fellowship. Funeral services were held in Asbury Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Walter Beckwith. Burial was in Asbury Church Cemetery. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Anna Sears, and a niece, Mrs. Roger Sterling, both of Crisfield.
