Description	:	Funeral services for Walter E. Stewart, 58, were held Friday, May 17, at 2 p.m. at the Wofe Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Clement M. Rowe. Mr. Stewart died May 14, at 3 p.m. at his home after a long illness. Further services were held at 3 p.m. in the Methodist Church in Grant conducted by the Rev. Mr. Rowe and Re. A. Breeling. Walter Everett Stewart was born February 20, 1899 in Adams County, Iowa, a son of Frank and Mary Stewart. He was married to Amelia Govig on February 19, 1919 at Strand. Surviving him are his wife, Amelia Stewart, and George Landon and Robert Govig, who made their home with Mr. and Mrs. Stewart for many years. He leaves also his sisters, Ernestine Thompson, Ottawa, Illinois, Lydia Shelly, Fairvas, Virginia, Martha Mitchel, Lewistown, Montana, Leona Nelson, Corning, Iowa, Jennie Osmundson, Harvard, Illinois, and his brothers, Alva Stewart, Corning and Ralph Stewart, Salem, Oregon, all of whom were present at the funeral except, Ralph. Walter was preceded in death by his mother and father, a sister, Irene Weston, four brothers, John, Oren, Charles Moody, Martin J., and an infant brother. He resided on a farm east of Grant until his health failed and he moved to Villisca in 242. He attended the Grant and Lincoln Center Churches. Here from a distance to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Alex Fink, Mrs. Harold Heller, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Fisk, Mrs. Lillian Givan, Glen Govig, Bryan Cavitt, all of Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Whrli, Harrington, Nebraska and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hetland, Creston.
