Description	:	Walter Grashorn Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 24 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Stanton for Walter G. Grashorn, 25, who died of a heart attack at his home here Sunday, Sept 20. The Rev. James Humann officiated under the direction of the Shultz Vogel Mortuary. Music was furnished by the parochial school children who sang "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Nearer My God to Thee". Burial was in the Stanton Cemetery with the following acting as pallbearers: [names illegible] Walter George Grashorn was born at Wisner on February 25, 1945, the son of Dick and Amelia Grashorn. He was baptized Mar. 25, 1945 at Pilger by the Rev. Bernthal. He attended the Stanton grade school through the 6th grade, and St. John's Lutheran School during grade s 7-8. He was confirmed in 1960. He graduated from Stanton High school in 1964. He had suffered with a congenital heart ailment all his life. His entire working life, beginning while he was still in school, was spent at The Stanton Register where he served as an apprentice and later a printer. He was a charter member of the Stanton Majestics Boys Club which he served faithfully as treasurer. Survivors include his mother of Stanton, his father, one sister, Mrs. Dennis (Alice) Patterson of Stanton, two brothers, Ervin of Stanton and Eldon of Norfolk, his grandmother, Mrs. Martha Grashorn of Madison a close family friend, Leo Mussack of Stanton, three nieces, four nephews and many other relatives and friends.
