Read More	Garden County News (Oshkosh, Nebraska), Jul. 11, 1929, Page 1 Two Meet Death By Drowning In Grove's Lake Friday Evening -- Walter Rieck and Ernest Deeds Are Victims While Fishing In Frail Boat Walter George Rieck, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Rieck, as born Wednesday, July 12, 1893, at Murdock, Cass County, Nebr., and passed from this life Friday, July 5, 1929, at the age of 35 years, 11 months and 23 days. When he was 12 years of age, he went with his parents to Primrose, Boone County, and there grew to manhood. On December 19, 1925, he was united in marriage with Miss Lillian Renkin, at Schuyler. They lived in Boone county for one year after their marriage, when they moved to Lisco, where they resided until his untimely death. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, his parents, six sisters and one brother. They are Mrs. Otto Dettmen, Mrs. Frank Robertson, of Lewellen; Mrs. Dave McBride, of Bartlett; Mr. Arnold Frances, Hershey; Mrs. John Hughes, Brule; Mrs. Irwin Winterer, Lisco; and Emil Rieck, Lewellen. Two sisters and one brother have preceded Mr. Rieck in death. All immediate relatives with the exception of one sister, Mrs. Dave McBride, Bartlett, came to pay tribute to the memory of their brother at his funeral. Others who were present were: Mr. and Mrs. Jim Renkin, Primrose, parents of the bereaved wife; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Rieck, Mr. and Mrs. William Rieck, Mr. and Mrs. Max Rieck, all of Primrose; Mr. Cary Rieck, Albion, brothers of the parents of the deceased. Funeral services were held at the home of August Rieck and at Grace Lutheran Church in Lewellen Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. M. J. Harder, pastor. Interment was made at Ash Hollow, Home Undertaking Parlors having charge. Members of Masonic Order acted as pall bearers and carried out their burial rites at the cemetery.
