Mr. Kottwitz is survived by his wife, Merle and two sons, Cecil and Burnell; also two sisters, Mrs. John Sommerfeld of Hastings and Mrs. Percy Omo of Pratt, Kansas. Funeral services will be held Sunday May 1, at Trinity Lutheran Church at 4 o’clock p.m. preceded by a prayer service at the home. The Rev. M.W. Tiemann will be in charge. Arrangements are in charge of Merten-Butler Funeral home. Final Rites Held Sunday for Walter H. Kottwitz Funeral services for Walter H. Kottwitz, who died suddenly Thursday morning last week, were held Sunday afternoon, May 4, at Trinity Lutheran church conducted by the Rev. M.W. Tiemann, supply pastor, of Campbell. The church service was preceded by a prayer service at the home 2 ½ miles northeast of Blue Hill. The pastor spoke words of comfprt based on Isaiah 45, 15. Trinity Lutheran choir sang. Walter H. Kottwitz was born April 28, 1896 at Blue Hill, Nebraska. He was baptized and confirmed in Trinity Lutheran church here by the Rev. C. Schubkegel. On March 7, 1917 he was married to Miss Merle Henry of Blue Hill. Three sons were born to this union. One son passed away in infancy Mr. Kottwitz spent his entire life in this community and passed away on the farm where he was born. He lived his entire life there with the exception of 10 years when the family lived two miles southeast of Blue Hill. He suffered from a heart aliment for some time, but this ailment was not considered serious. He passed away following an attack, at four o’clock in the morning on Thursday, May 1, at the age of 51 years and 3 days. He is survived by his widow and sons, Cecil and Burnell. Two sisters, Mrs. Minna Sommerfeld of Hastings, and Mrs. Ida Omo, of Pratt, Kansas, also survive him. Among those from a distance who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Henry of Kansas City, Mo., Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Henry of Haxtun, Colorado; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Henry of Oconto, Nebr., Mrs. A.D.
