Description	:	Troy – Walter H. Mitchell, 67, a life long resident of this community died at a Waterville hospital Monday, August 8, 1966, after a short illness. He was born in Troy August 4, 1899, the son of Danville and Lillian Bennett Mitchell. He was married to the former Ida Hale and they had made their home in Troy where he had been engaged in farming. Mitchell, 67, a life long resident of this community died at a Waterville hospital Monday, August 8, 1966, after a short illness. He was born in Troy August 4, 1899, the son of Danville and Lillian Bennett Mitchell. He was married to the former Ida Hale and they had made their home in Troy where he had been engaged in farming. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Star of the West of Unity, the Seven Star Grange of Troy, had served as selectman of Troy for several years and had been chairman of the A.S.C. of Waldo County for 20 years. Also, he had held the contract for plowing roads for this community for 30 years. Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Mendelsohn of Bloomfield, Conn.; three sons, Richard and Roger, both of Troy, and Kenton of Unity; five grandsons; two sisters, the Misses Edith and Leola Mitchell both of Troy; three brothers, James of Clinton, Manley of Troy and Harvey of Stockton Springs; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Troy Union Church, Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. George Fowler officiating. Burial will be in the Rogers Cemetery in Troy. (Published in the Bangor Daily News)
