Kochanowski Dies at Loup City Walter Kochanowski passed away Sunday, March 25, at the Loup City hospital after an illness of about two months, being 61 years and one month old at the time of his death. He was born in Leavenworth, Kas., moving with his parents to a Nebraska homestead at the age of five years. Kochanowski Dies at Loup City Walter Kochanowski passed away Sunday, March 25, at the Loup City hospital after an illness of about two months, being 61 years and one month old at the time of his death. He was born in Leavenworth, Kas., moving with his parents to a Nebraska homestead at the age of five years. He lived in Leavenworth a great portion of his life, until about 15 years ago when he came back to Nebraska. Mr. Kochanowski was in business in Arcadia for several years and in 1937 he moved his interests to Rockville, where he remained until shortly before he died. Left to mourn are five brothers and six sisters and many nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends. All were present at his funeral except his oldest sister, Mary Walls who resides in California and was unable to secure traveling accommodations. His parents and one brother, Harry, preceded him in death. The other sisters surviving are Anna Ward, Frances Santore and Agnes Tappson, all of Chicago, and Helen Kwiatkowski and Barbara Kwiatkowski, of Ashton. The brothers left are Frank, Joe and Andy of Leavenworth, Kas., Pete of Burwell and Anton of Ashton. Rosary was said at Steele's Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, with Rev. Zulkoski officiating. Requiem mass was said at St. Francis Catholic church at Ashton with Rev. A. L. Jarzemski officiating. Interment was made in the family lot in Ashton cemetery.
