Description	:	OBIT: Walter J. Phare, 90, died Friday at the Royal Vista Care Center. He was born November 7, 1896 in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He came to Ellensburg in 1911 from Minnesota. He worked on the Yakima Canyon Road construction project and later worked with the first snow removal crews on the Snoqualmie Highway. He was a member of the Christian Church and the... Read More	OBIT: Walter J. Phare, 90, died Friday at the Royal Vista Care Center. He was born November 7, 1896 in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He came to Ellensburg in 1911 from Minnesota. He worked on the Yakima Canyon Road construction project and later worked with the first snow removal crews on the Snoqualmie Highway. Mr. Phare farmed for a longtime in the Badger Pocket and Parke areas. They lived in Ellensburg for the past 40 years. He was married to Hildred Jones on May 8, 1936 in Ellensburg. He was a member of the Christian Church and the Grange. He was an Army World War I veteran. Survivors include his wife, Hildred, and one brother, Roscoe Phare, Seal Rock, Oregon. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the High Valley Memorial Gardens. Friends wishing to attend the service may meet at the cemetery.
