Ashland - Walter J Boynton, 78, died at Sceva Speare Memorial Hospital, Plymouth, after a period of failing health. He was born in Ashland December 9, 1924, the son of Elmer Boynton and Grace Goss Boynton. Mr. Boynton worked for the Town of Ashland for many years and was the former Road Agent. He also worked at Green Grove Cemetery. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army in the European Theatre. Mr. Boynton was a member of the Ashland High Class of 1943 and received his diploma December 20, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Myrtle Ordway Boynton of Ashland; three sons, Lester Boynton of Laconia, Gene Boynton of West Center Harbor and Ronald Boynton of New Hampton; one daughter, Bonita Boynton of Ashland; one brother, Clarence Boynton of New Hampton; one sister, Doris Monet of Massachusetts; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Dupuis Funeral Home tonight from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 24, at 2 p.m. at the Ashland Baptist Church. The Rev. Everett Palmer will officiate.
