Description	:	WATSON - Walter Leroy Watson, age 74 of 904 E. 10th Street, died Aug. 18, in Coffeyville Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mr. Watson was born April 18, 1908 at Sherman, Kan., to Monty and Laura (Smith) Watson. He attended school in Sherman and at the L.L. Cook School of Electricity in Wyoming. Read More	WATSON - Walter Leroy Watson, age 74 of 904 E. 10th Street, died Aug. 18, in Coffeyville Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mr. Watson was born April 18, 1908 at Sherman, Kan., to Monty and Laura (Smith) Watson. He attended school in Sherman and at the L.L. Cook School of Electricity in Wyoming. He returned home and married Dona Brown at Oswego on Oct. 26, 1929. The couple lived in Parsons and Oswego until moving to Coffeyville in 1945 when he began employment with Frazier Seed Company. He then sold real estate for J.W. Hiebert, before selling for himself at Watson Realty. His other employment included Continental Can Company and Coffeyville Packing Co. He retired in 1969. Mrs. Watson died March 5, 1979. Mr. Watson served in Italy and North Africa in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Sherman Baptist Church and the V.F.W. Post No. 1022 of Coffeyville. Survivors include: two sons, Raymond L. Watson, Wichita, and Jerry D. Watson, 816 W. 10th; two daughters, Mrs. Virgil (Mary) Davidson, 107 Jefferson and Mrs. Don (Doris) Swain, Blackwell, Okla.; one sister, Lorene Ebel, Oswego; 11 grandchildren; seven great¬grandchildren and three step grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday at the Bible Baptist church with burial in the Sherman City Cemetery. The family welcomes memorials to the American Cancer Society. Rev. Ralph Liles of the Bible Baptist Church officiated at the funeral. Arrangements were handled through Ford-Wulf-Bruns Colonial Chapel.
