He passed to his rest at his home in Geneva, Neb., June 28, 1926, aged 77 years and 5 months. He was married to Ida Sprout, February 3, 1886 in Geneva, Neb. To this union were born five daughters: Mrs. Le Grad Cherry; Mrs. Will Nicholas; Mrs. Ray Killion; and Lela and Hazel; and one son, Walter. Read More	HUSTON, WALTER SCOTT—Walter Scott Huston was born January 28, 1849, near New Philadelphia, Ind. He passed to his rest at his home in Geneva, Neb., June 28, 1926, aged 77 years and 5 months. He was married to Ida Sprout, February 3, 1886 in Geneva, Neb. To this union were born five daughters: Mrs. Le Grad Cherry; Mrs. Will Nicholas; Mrs. Ray Killion; and Lela and Hazel; and one son, Walter. There live to mourn his death, besides his wife, and children, one sister, Mrs. Jennie Schrader; and one brother, T.O. Huston. The early days of Mr. Huston’s life were spent in Mercer county, Illinois. After his graduation from Monmouth, Ill., college in 1870, he came west and spent a few years in the mines of Utah, after which he taught school a number of years in Iowa, Utah, and Nebraska. Since his marriage, he has been engaged in different lines of enterprise, the implement business constituting the major part of his career. Mr. Huston was one of the earliest Fillmore county pioneers, having for years resided in and contributed toward the growth and development of the community. He has held many offices of political trust, having for a number of years served in the capacity of city treasurer and treasurer of the Fillmore county fair board. His long career in characteristic activity in community affairs, acquired for him a large acquaintance and a host of friends. He had been ill of heart trouble for about a year. The funeral service took place from his late residence in Geneva at 3 p.m. Friday, June 2, Rev. H.G. Langley officiating. The children were all present, also Mr. and Mrs. Sprout of Franklin, Mrs. Huston of Lincoln, Mrs. Cross and step-father, Mr. Sprout, Mrs. Eva Curtiss of Lincoln, Mrs. Schrader of Aledo, Ill., and others.
