Description	:	Walter Wood Cochren, son of William and Julia Cochren, was born October 24, 1894, at Netawaka, Kan. and died June 17, 1950, at Horton hospital, Horton, Kans., at the age of 55 years, 7 months, and 24 days. He was a member of the Methodist church. June 15, 1918, he was united in marriage to Marie Shannon. He is survived by his wife and five children, Mrs. June Henoch of Horton, Mrs. Thomas Manion of Hays, Wendell of Whiting, Bill of Topeka, Mrs. Betty Scheid of Whiting, and two granddaughters, two brothers, Claude of Chicago and Ernest of... He is survived by his wife and five children, Mrs. June Henoch of Horton, Mrs. Thomas Manion of Hays, Wendell of Whiting, Bill of Topeka, Mrs. Betty Scheid of Whiting, and two granddaughters, two brothers, Claude of Chicago and Ernest of Circleville. Four nieces, two nephews and a host of friends. His father, mother, three brothers and one sister preceded him in death He was a successful farmer and in the hatchery business for nineteen years. For the last two years he devoted his time to his livestock and real estate. He was a great lover of music and sports, especially baseball. He was always willing to help any just cause, especially helping young people. He will be greatly and sadly missed by his family and his many, many friends. Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Methodist church in Whiting. Rev. Bass officiated. Pallbearers were Clifford Wade, Buss Maxwell, Bob Argo, Oliver Nelson, Frank Bottenberg, Roswell Spencer. Music was furnished by Gladys Dieckman, Mrs. Charles Beam, and Mrs. Wayne Williams.
