Interment was in St. Paul's Cemetery, Midway. Wanda E. Jansen was born October 7, 1927, in Honey Creek, Iowa, the daughter of George and Caroline Wohlers. She grew up in the Washta, Storm Lake and Anthon areas. She married Bernard J. Thayer June 1, 1948, in Elk Point, South Dakota. They lived in the Anthon community where he died September 14, 1970. She married Marvin P. Jansen August 17, 1974, in Sioux City. They moved to Ketchikan, Alaska, where she was a junior high principal. In November 1990 they moved to Seattle and to Camano Island, Washington, in July 1991. She was a member of Redemption Lutheran Church in Lynwood, Washington. She was active in the Women's Club and library while she was in Anthon. She was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, American Association of University Women and Soroptimist Club. Survivors include her husband, two daughters, Mrs. John (Victoria) Knudsen of Anchorage, Alaska, and Mrs. Edwardo (Kimberly) Sales of Snoqualmie, Washington, her father, George Wohlers of Newell, Iowa, two brothers, Raymond of Marion and Howard of Omaha; four sisters, Norma Wonder of Storm Lake, Delores Holstein of Arkansas, Kathleen Kanasek of Springfield, Missouri, and Luella Wolff of Topeka, Kansas, and three grandchildren, Julia, Stephanie and Brandon. She was preceded by her mother and a sister.
