Marvin Peter Jansen was born July 8, 1924, to Peter and Elsie Jansen in Anthon. He attended and graduated from school in Anthon. He married Marjorie Goodman and had four children. They farmed in the Anthon area until getting into the John Deere Equipment business in Anthon. He married Wanda Thayer, who had two children. They moved to Ketchikan, Alaska, where he worked in the local hardware store. They retired in Camano Island, Washington, where Wanda lost her battle with cancer. He married Mickie Vail, who had three children. They moved to Anderson, California, where they purchased a fifth wheel and hit the road. They worked in California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana and South Dakota as camp hosts. Mickie lost her battle with cancer just this last December. He is survived by his sister, Betty (John) Lavigne of Minnesota; daughters, Marsha Jansen, Lauren Jansen, Nancy (Bruce) Rayl, and Sherri (Randy) Quandt;,stepdaughters, Victoria Knudsen, Kim (Ed) Sales, Karen (Charlie) Knowles, Dee (Danny) Shannon, and Shae (Glen) Evenson; 27 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
