Description	:	ORR'S ISLAND -- Warren S. Williams, 'Bill,' 79, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2011, as a result of complications from COPD. He was born in Harpswell on Feb. 5, 1931, the son of Leland and Marion Corbett Williams. He attended Harpswell schools and graduated from Brunswick High School, Class of 1949. Williams, 'Bill,' 79, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2011, as a result of complications from COPD. He was born in Harpswell on Feb. 5, 1931, the son of Leland and Marion Corbett Williams. He attended Harpswell schools and graduated from Brunswick High School, Class of 1949. Warren joined the Navy in 1951, served on the USS Wasp and USS Tarawa during the Korean War for four years. He married Nancy Sylvester in Brunswick on Nov. 13, 1952. Warren was employed by Pejepscot Paper Co. for 33 years, traveling throughout the state as a scaler and wood buyer. Following retirement he was employed by several area contractors, as well as doing special projects for his son. He was predeceased by a son, Michael E. Williams in 1997; a grandson, Brant R. Williams in 2004; and two sisters, Janice Williams Gott and Gladys Williams. Warren enjoyed gardening, woodworking, decoy carving and hunting. He was passionate about his garden and enjoyed starting his vegetables from seeds for many years. For 30 years Warren enjoyed an annual hunting trip with some of his best friends to Pejepscot Woodlands in Washington County. Over the past 15 years he enjoyed the process of building and visiting 'Camp Dingo,' the log cabin that he, his son and grandson built in a remote section of Franklin County. He personally built most of the furniture from logs and tree limbs. Friends may visit at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick, on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Raymond L. St. Pierre officiating. Interment will be in Orr's Island Cemetery.
