Description	:	Warren Stevens, son of Ernest Clayton and Mary M. Crooker, was born July 17, 1901, at Exeter and departed this life at the home of his mother in Fairmont, April 17, 1950, being 48 years, 9 months old. He moved with his parents from the farm near Exeter to Fairmont when only a small boy. Here he attended the Fairmont schools, completing the elementary grades. Read More	Warren Stevens, son of Ernest Clayton and Mary M. Crooker, was born July 17, 1901, at Exeter and departed this life at the home of his mother in Fairmont, April 17, 1950, being 48 years, 9 months old. He moved with his parents from the farm near Exeter to Fairmont when only a small boy. Here he attended the Fairmont schools, completing the elementary grades. Being ambitious, he set out to work on the section for the Burlington, working on the branch line between Fairmont and McCool. Later he transferred to the shops at Havelock, working as a blacksmith and welder. This was his chosen profession, for he followed it for the remainder of his life. He worked for a time with the Burlington, then transferred to the Milwaukee and finally to the North Western. He was on leave from the North Western at the time of his passing. During this leave, he came to visit the folks and spend a month with them. His passing was a shock, since he apparently was in good health, although he was not one to complain. He is survived by his mother, two brothers and three sisters, Ernest G. of Lincoln, Mrs. Mae McMahon and Mrs. Alice Peters of Fairmont, Mrs. Ruth Spell of Lincoln and Frank L. of Ketchikan, Alaska; three nephews, one niece, other relatives and many friends. He was devoted to his mother. A friend of all he met. Funeral services were held in the Farimont Methodist church, April 27, with Rev. L.A. Fishel, the pastor, officiating.
